Hey, there is an odd static/buzz sound in the back on this episode. It’s noticable when you are talking, but you really hear it when there is a pause between talking.
Is this a problem I have on my end? It’s the first episode with this kind of sound “error”.
Cheers

The company that made Half-Life is Valve, not Steam. Steam is their service.
Keep up the good work

great show as always. just wanted to make it clear that VALVe is the company, not Steam, and steam is reputable and useful. its like itunes for games, plus it has a great community part to it which is incredibly useful. more and more games are getting steamed for a reason
steam is good most of the time, when it isn’t doing needless upgrades, etc.
but really good show.

Valve?
yeah they are ok.
Steam?
No.
Steam is Malware, pure and Simple. Its even worse than SecuROM for installing stuff without asking and monitoring things other than the game you are playing. Its one of the reasons I wont be Buying DoW2, which is a shame.

how is steam malware?
If you actually use it for games, it is great 98% of the time.
Malware is defined by dictionary.com as:
software, such as viruses, intended to damage or disable a computer system; short for malicious software; also written mal-ware.
Steam isn’t designed to hurt your computer, and it doesn’t slow it down like or force you to install unwanted programs like itunes does (*cough* mobileme *cough*)and it isn’t a rootkit like securom, which actually is malware. Plus it lets you install the game on any computer that has steam, as long as you are only logged into steam on one computer at a time, which gives it a ton of boosts over securom. Besides, the only thing that it monitors is your hardware configuration, which is a well known fact that valve doesn’t hide. It talks about it on the website and in the EULA for steam.
sorry for going off topic, and I realize that this should be somewhere else, but I feel strongly about steam. But I digress.
