Great to see you doing a Tau show guys. I would love to hear the effects that you feel 5th edition had on Tau Mech forces considering they only normally have 3 troop choices and when using fish of fury the devilfish in between gives your opponent a 4+ cover save.

And by the way, the kroot rifle counts as a second hand weapon in close combat so kroot have 2 attacks base, not one like you said in the show.

Cheers

and YES, that’s ‘Croot’ with a “C”!

Tau pronunciation help, you need it:

Shas’ui is REALLY pronounced ‘Sushi’ (goes with the fish face thing)

Drones are pronounced ‘Skeet’

Hope that helps, love the podcasts!

That show was amazingly Tau-rific. It so happens I am in the midstof getting my Farsight list together at the moment and my models painted.

I recently started listening and seeing I’ve been working on a Tau army for about 6 months, I started here. It was a good start, but I did want to give a heads-up that a lot of the info about drones on vehicles have been FAQ’ed and what you said is wrong. Basically Drones count as weapons on the vehicle when it would be helpful for them not to, but count as passengers when it would be better for them to be part of the Devilfish. Most notably, they cannot target a seperate target unless you take the upgrade that allows this. Also, they count as weapons for the purposes of firing on the move and being S5, they aren’t defensive. Tau have NO defensive weapons at all. Of course it only costs a few points for them to fire as if fast, but it’s still something to consider. Keep up the good work!

Marker lights on the sky ray count as defensive while the seeker missles themselves dont count as weapons at all, just wargear
