Looking forward to the show! Does anyone know if the old subscriptions in iTunes are going to translate over, or do we need to resubscribe to the podcast?
July 14th, 2010 at 6:16 pm
CreapinDeath, try the email function on the site. It is now linked to my account. I should be able to help you that way. This section is just for show related comments. Thanks buddy.

July 15th, 2010 at 5:12 pm

July 15th, 2010 at 6:07 pm
I’ve been waiting for this and I feel pleased with the new hosts. I like how you guys said flat out we’re not Spencer and the guys its us and the new 40k radio. Trying to fill their shoes just wouldn’t have worked its a new show with new people and I like what I have heard so far and have high hopes for the future.
July 15th, 2010 at 7:31 pm
A few notes: Sound quality is awful; need to get that fixed ASAP. Also, Mr. Primary Host… quit filling what should be silent pauses in your speech with “AAAaaa…”
Otherwise, glad to see you pick up the chips and carry on.
July 15th, 2010 at 8:47 pm
Oni, it sounds fine on our end. Have you checked the settings on the system your using to listen to the show? Almost everyone said it sounded fine with no audio issues. We will always try to make the sound as great as possible. Thanks for the advise.
July 15th, 2010 at 9:07 pm

July 16th, 2010 at 12:30 am
Really glad to see this show back. The new episode was a strong start – sure, there wasn’t any drinking, from what I could tell. But I can’t wait to see George and Rick grow into the show. Finally, the podcast trifecta that is Podhammer, Worlds End Radio, and once again 40k Radio is complete!
July 16th, 2010 at 12:33 am
I found the audio quality to be just fine, I was simply listening over the mp3 player built into my phone on a blutooth headset.
I agree about the Mmmm’s and Aaaah’s, they really stood out at the start of the show. However if they continued then I stopped jearing them pretty quick. Infact I voted George as my faveourite part of the show on the survey above, although I shouldn’t have as it is too early to start choosing things.
Good work and good luck.
July 16th, 2010 at 3:45 am
Yea audio was good. If a little quiet (quieter than the old 40k radio anyway as i got blasted as with blood angel fashion show at the end of the new 1! lol)
I wish the same could be said of the grammar in one of these comments! even tho i was only reading in my head i still ran out of breath!
And no im not perfect
we like making party wiff da englands
July 16th, 2010 at 3:54 am
I hate to say it, but I agree with oni (post49).. the sound quality is terrible… I have only tried playing it through my N96, but MP3s normally sound a helluva lot better then this.
However, I’m glad your back!
PS Romeo… hurry up and ship some PACK 432’s to Wayland Games in the UK… i need my bag!!
July 16th, 2010 at 5:13 am
It didn’t suck
July 16th, 2010 at 7:06 am
Sound wasn’t bad but too quiet… just raise the outbound a little and it would be great…
glad you are back too!
July 16th, 2010 at 8:28 am
Confession time, I’d had my new Behringer mixing board, condenser mic and F-Controller only one day before we recorded the show, and Rik and Romeo we’re just running in direct since they hadn’t received the 40K Radio hardware. Sound quality will improve dramatically for the next episode once I get the settings tight. D6G records over Skype with the other hosts so we’re working out those bugs too. I’m looking into Vonage’s software as well for the VOIP. And for the record I plan to have some in-studio guests as 3rd seat for occasional episodes.
Don’t worry, the sound issues will get fixed, and once we hit stride we’ll be a lot tighter with the dialog too. This pre-view was just an informal introduction of the new format. Thanks for the props and the critiques.
July 16th, 2010 at 10:21 am
Whilst the audio sounded reasonably clear, it simply didn’t stand up to the quality of some of the other casts out and about at the moment.
Biggest issue being the computer clicks or dings, and the dog in the background wasn’t the most professional either. These are really easy things to fix with a bit of attention to detail, so please take this as constructive criticism.
I generally found the hosts to be all right, but Romeo seriously needs to pay attention to the question he’s being asked rather than going off on a wierd tangent. The “ums” and “ahs” are something you guys will get a lot better with over time, but whoever is doing the editing should focus on removing as many of them as possible – which should not be hard to do – again, just attention to detail.
Overall a pretty solid start gents. Full credit for the intro – very appropriate and quite awesome. Looking forward to seeing how you progress from here!
July 16th, 2010 at 11:35 am
Great to have the show back. It was a bit rough around the edges (nervous umms, ahhs) and the sound quality was a sub-par. However, I enjoyed listening to the show and can’t wait until the regular episodes get rolling again. It’ll only get better from here.
Remember what this show sounded like when Spencer and Phil started it?! Man – that was hard to listen too. I think some of us have forgotten the rough start the show originally had…
July 17th, 2010 at 1:52 am
i like ill keep listening
July 17th, 2010 at 6:53 am
So far, so good, guys! Looking forward to the show and getting to know the George and Rick. Also, strangely ecstatic the show’s intro music and Conan soundbite are thus far intact! Being one of the guys with the “one way hour commute”, I’m very pleased to have you back. As a freeboota, I say, welcome home.
July 17th, 2010 at 3:15 pm
Good Luck fellas, you’ve got a hard act to follow.
The intro was fantastically done after so long – words with sentiment and when the good old music came on I could almost hear the cheers from the bootaz!
The king is dead, long live the king.
July 18th, 2010 at 7:16 am
I think that the new show has got great potential, keep up the good work.
July 18th, 2010 at 12:09 pm

July 18th, 2010 at 9:16 pm
Glad you guys are back. Look Forward to future shows!
July 18th, 2010 at 9:20 pm
Fantastic job guys. like a phoenix rising for the ashes ,now lets hope you soar into the sky .
July 19th, 2010 at 6:02 am
So I’ve listened to the new show and other than the volume being a bit low the quality was fine for me.
Although continuing in the long great traditions of 40K Radio this is to all effect a new Podcast. I thought you guys done great considering the circumstances and equipment issues.
You answered all of the questions people have had and st the record straight about where the show is going and how it’ll work.
I am really looking forward to more from you guys, keep up the good work..
July 19th, 2010 at 9:26 am

July 21st, 2010 at 10:32 am
You guys are great. I can’t wait to hear more from you.
July 21st, 2010 at 4:36 pm
@william kuby: huh?
July 22nd, 2010 at 11:12 am
The sound is definitely listenable, but if you want to make it sound professional, there are a few things you’ll need to do. The primary issue with your sound are your rooms. Condenser mics generally have a wide pattern and pick up a lot of extra room noise, so you’ll need to have some sound absorption materials on your walls. You will also need a sound compressor to smooth out your voices and so you can boost the volume.
July 22nd, 2010 at 12:40 pm
its great to have 40k radio back
July 23rd, 2010 at 12:45 pm
Awesome! I’m really looking forward to the new podcast!
July 23rd, 2010 at 1:07 pm
Great 1st show, guys! I look forward to hearing more from you in the future.
@Romeo: Don’t worry about all the anti-capitalist, overly zealous net-haters, bro. If you can make a little money while doing something you love and presenting us with the outstanding product that I know you will, then that’s ok by me. Semper fi, dog.
